Before you accuse me, take a look at yourself

So now begins my countdown to the end of the term, within that lies my last few remaining days at the middle school. It is not that I haven’t enjoyed myself at the middle school… wait, that’s right, I haven’t. This ten week middle school experience reminded me why I blocked out those three years of my earlier life. Today had to be one of the worst days, the kids were all equally mean and horrible. I think they were growing larger and stronger because they feed off my fear and (rapidly thinning) patience. I’m not sure which took the cake today, maybe it was the kid yelling at the sub, or the gang of students tearing apart another student’s notebook– maybe it was just the general mayhem, I’m not a big fan of mayhem.
And I don’t really think that size or assumed authority mean anything to these pint-sized gremlins, they’ll still make fun of you. Like today, students started pointing out that I have curly hair. This just brought up repressed memories of those same taunts back eight years ago… only this time I can’t legally make fun of them in return. Stupid laws. “I have curly hair, huh? Yeah, well, you’re going to flunk–I’ll make sure of it. And you’re short.” No not legal at all.

Spring break come quick and sweet.
